We have seen celebs in the past, being moved by hearing a story about a family and sending some big time donations to help them out. A similar incident occurred recently where Kanye West was seen so deeply moved by hearing the story of Jemel Roberson, a security guard in Chicago who was shot dead by cops as he was standing with a gunman whom he subdued.
West took a big step to help the family of Jemel Roberson by donation $150,000 on Friday. The original goal at the GoFundMe account was to get a donation of $10,000 for their family to help them in tough times. However, the star stepped up for them, making sure that they needs are well satisfied.
Jemel Roberson was serving as the security guard at Manny’s Blue Room Bar this Sunday at around 4 AM. He had several drunk customers that were ordered out and was keeping his eyes wide open when one of them returned to the bar with a gun and opened fire.
Roberson fought back bravely, opening return fire and subdued the gunman. He held him at the gunpoint as the police arrived but it is where the event takes the unfortunate turn. Upon the arrival, the policemen shot Roberson and killed him.
As for Kanye, he has spent most of his time in the last few months in Chicago.
Considering the work of Roberson, he was operating late working on extra shifts to make some additional money to assure that he has enough for his son on coming Christmas.
The killing of the security is still under investigation and the final report is awaited.
