There is a report that the company is facing thousands of lawsuits which claims that its talc products have been the reason to cause of cancer.
The review of documents of Reuter, found out that the company was aware of those trace amounts of the asbestos since the year 1971 and according to the lawyers, the Johnson and Johnson baby powder is safe and asbestos free and is ok to be used by the babies.
The articles of the Reuters are false, one sided and inflammatory. Simply putting it, the story of the reuters is nothing but an absurd. The attorney Peter Bicks contacted Reuters through an email that the scientific consensus of the talc which are used in talc based body powders doesn’t cause any cancer regardless of the type talc used in it.
Well this is genuinely true even if it is not because Johnson and Johnson’s cosmetic talc had ever contained undetectable amounts of the asbestos. The Johnson and Johnson documents were also reviewed by the Reuters which were actually produced being a part of the trails and many of them had been shielded from the view by the orders of the court.
It was also revealed by the document that at least from the year 1971 to the year 2000, the internal tests of the firm has found the small amounts of the asbestos in its finished powder and the raw talc. Most of the tests which have been done by the firm hadn’t found any asbestos and it also didn’t disclosed the tests which they did to the regulators.
According to the statement of Mr. Bicks, the tests of the results which are cited by the Reuter’s articles were just the outlier results and the firm has also argued about it in the court that some of the documents which had been presented are linked to the industrial talc products.
