Kavanaugh responds to allegations

Brett Kavanaugh has been under the spotlight not only because he is the next nominee for Chief Justice of Supreme Court but due to the allegations of sexually harassing and assaulting ladies in this high school and days. Kavanaugh wrote a letter to the top lawmakers in the Senate Judiciary Committee referring to there as ‘smears.’

He clearly stated that ‘I will not be intimidated into withdrawing from this process’ in his letter, further adding that these are coordinated efforts that are looking to eradicate his good name. Moreover, he also referred to the threats of violence that came up against his family saying that there were not able to stop him and now this character assassination attempt will also not intimidate him into withdrawing his name. The testimony of Kavanaugh will proceed on Thursday where he will stand in front of the committee while in the presence of the first accuser.

“There is now a frenzy to come up with something—anything—that will block this process and a vote on my confirmation from occurring,” Kavanaugh wrote. “These are smears, pure and simple. And they debase our public discourse.”

The allegations on Kavanaugh has been increasing with the passage of time and the most recent has come from a lady named Debbie Ramirez. In an interview with the New Yorker, she stated that there was a party while their time in the Yale University where Kavanaugh exposed himself to her.

Adding to that, Ramirez also stated that the whole incident is not completely clear in the mind as she was drinking during the party. As per the magazine, the woman has spent about a week with the attorney n remembering the incident and assuring that whatever she is stating is completely clear in her head and not any vague details.

The confirmation vote for Kavanaugh has been met with chaos since the first allegation was made by Christine Ford who stated that he tried to force himself on her. Stating in a letter to Grassley, she listed that it was hard for her to come up with the allegations but she felt that it was her civic duty to tell people about Kavanaugh’s character. She further added that at first her thoughts were to keep things confidential but now she looks forward to testifying the matter.

Kavanaugh’s testimony in front of Senate Committee is set to proceed on Thursday. As for the allegations, some people are seeing it as a question on the integrity and character of Kavanaugh while others say that it is totally political.
